Summary: The dispatching of taxis and limousines, providing transportation information to the traveling public and the collection of tickets and transportation documents (Customer Service Agent who assist travelers in leaving the airport). No driving required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Obtaining passenger destination information and requirements.
- Greeting and directing the traveling public to the proper taxi and limousine lanes.
- Assisting with luggage.
- Opening and closing of taxi doors and trunks.
- Collecting terminal tickets and prearranged forms.
- Assisting with traffic mitigation.
- Preparing shift end reports.
- Controlling access gates into terminals.
- Using basic deductive logic to determine commercial vehicle requirements and dispatching the appropriate number of vehicles.
Language Ability:
Ability to read, write and speak English. Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely with the public, taxi/limousine drivers and all other transportation personnel.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in whole numbers.
Reasonable Ability:
Ability to apply common sense and effectively respond and resolve customer/driver concerns.
Work Environment:
- Employees are regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
- Must be able to work outside in inclement weather and extreme temperatures.
- Must be tolerant of a variety of different ethnic groups, values and beliefs.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:
- Must be able to comfortably lift, carry and secure luggage up to 50lbs in weight
- Must have sufficient hand dexterity to open door handles, vehicle trunks, and booth doors.
- Must be aware of the busy working environment and have full ocular and auditory abilities.
- Must be able to stand for the duration of an 8-hour shift with one 30-minute lunch period and two 10-minute breaks.
- Must be able to sit, stoop and turn without restriction.
- Must be able to function in a hectic, fast paced environment.
- Ability to communicate on a two-way radio.
