The College of Arts & Sciences seeks an enthusiastic, detail-oriented Business Support Specialist I to provide essential business support for the Sciences, primarily supporting Community Psychological Services in the Department of Psychological Sciences. Requires strong interpersonal skills and a helpful, positive outlook on assisting faculty, staff, students and outside constituents.
This is a wonderful opportunity for anyone who is interested in working with students, faculty as well as the college-wide business and office staff team in an enriching and diverse academic setting where duties vary day-to-day.
Performs a variety of independent, specialized business support duties for the assigned department(s) or Center under guidance of the Senior Business Specialist:
Supports day to day operations of Community Psychological Services including scheduling appointments, registering clients and managing patient calls and files
Executes, documents and reports on business and fiscal operations using established templates and procedures including clinic billing and entering payments into SOS
Assists with hiring and procurement; Assists with advising faculty and staff on UM and campus purchasing policy and procedures, providing knowledge related to financial transactions
Acts as the liaison to graduate students
Assists with scheduling facilities, equipment and catering for events, meetings and programs
Assists with creation and maintenance of department websites, newsletters and other items
May serve as coverage/backup for Business Specialist or Office Assistant duties as needed
Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with Microsoft Office and some experience working in a clinical office setting.
