Job Description

This position will support externally funded projects including a NIH R01 focused on repair of cortical structures after brain injury and stroke. This individual will work with rodent models to perform behavioral tests, solution preparation and tissue sample collection. Additionally, the position will do microscopy work under the supervision of senior laboratory members and will participate in the mouse colony maintenance for breeding, genotyping etc.
Duties include:
  • Rodent models to perform behavioral tests, solution preparation and tissue sample collection.
  • Mouse colony maintenance for breeding, genotyping.
  • Meticulous and organized documentation of research activity and data collection.
  • Organize, interpret data and summarize results, microscopy work.
  • Set up, maintain, and clean laboratory instruments and equipment, such as microscope, pipets and image machines.
  • Maintain supply inventory and track expenses.
Shift

Monday through Friday, 8am – 5pm

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in biology or health science related; one year of experience in animal colony maintenance and/or general lab work

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $17.96 - $33.18 per hour

Grade: GGS-8
