Chair, Clinical and Administrative Sciences
The Chair is an administrative appointment with responsibilities that are in addition to those of a faculty member in the given department of clinical and administrative sciences. The Chair reports to the Dean, is a member of the Leadership Team, and serves as one of the primary representatives of the College of Pharmacy. The Chair has shared responsibility for developing and following the strategic plan that supports the mission, goals and objectives of the University and College. The Chair is responsible for working effectively and collegially with the other members of the management team and to represent their department.
Requirements:
- The Department Chair must possess a doctoral degree in pharmacy and/or related academic discipline
- The Chair must have a strong commitment to the professional development of pharmacy students and the advancement of the pharmacy profession
- The Chair should have a record of excellence in teaching, research, and service and have reached the academic rank of Associate Professor or Professor
- Experience with a Doctor of Pharmacy program with a clinical pharmacy background is preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, to effectively interface with and present information to faculty, staff, students, and other stakeholders
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse populations and personalities
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Strong problem solving skills - flexible, adaptable, and creative
- Ability to develop and follow policies and procedures that support the programs in the College
- Demonstrated record of academic teaching, scholarly activity, professional service and the leadership skills necessary to promote these qualities among the faculty
- Ability to learn and utilize essential technologies
- Ability to work collegially with the faculty and the management team
