Industrial Maintenance Technician (Cooperage)

Job Title: Industrial Electrical Technician, Day Shift, Third Shift
Reporting to: Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Supervisor
Job Description: The Industrial Maintenance Technician is an integral part of the Speyside production team. The Maintenance Maintenance Technician will perform a variety of tasks needed to support the production of high-quality white oak bourbon barrels. The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining cooperage equipment, machinery, electrical, and hydraulic systems as directed by the Maintenance Manager. The Industrial Maintenance Technician, as directed, will perform troubleshooting, repair, and construction work assigned to the maintenance department. The successful candidate must have a strong work ethic and be a team player. The successful candidate must be familiar with and perform job responsibilities using Standard Safety Practices, Standard Operating Procedures, and Quality Control Standards, employ active listening skills, and have the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively within a team environment.

Key Responsibilities: As part of the maintenance team, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to the production of high-quality white oaks bourbon barrels. Tasks include but are not limited to:
• The Industrial Maintenance Technician will be responsible for day-to-day trouble-shooting, maintaining equipment, wiring controls, and installation of facility equipment and systems, as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Will report daily to the Maintenance Manager for added daily assignments.
• Will operate forklifts and platform scissor lifts at the facility.
• Will maintain the operation of all rolling stock equipment.
• Will perform various welding operations.
• Will troubleshoot and perform mechanical repairs of hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, gearbox attachment and repair, chain and belt drive apparatus, and steel structures.
• Will adjust, repair, maintain, operate, and observe the general safe operation of all machinery and equipment.
• Must have the ability to accurately complete work instructions individually or as a team.
• Must have knowledge of PLC programming and be capable of troubleshooting and making necessary program changes.
• Comply with all standard safety practices and procedures.
• Staff is responsible for keeping work areas clean, orderly, and free of hazards and required to follow all company safety and quality requirements.
• Employees will be expected to maintain dependable and excellent attendance and work as team player to achieve a common goal.

Qualifications:
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to pass a health and drug screening test.
• The successful candidate must be able to stand for long periods of time and be able to work in a variety of positions including bending, stooping, pulling, pushing, grasping, and reaching.
• The successful candidate must have good hand/eye coordination.
• The successful candidate must be able maneuver a minimum of 100 pounds and lift a minimum of 30 pounds.
• The successful candidate must be able to perform assembly type tasks while product is moving along an assembly line or table.
• The successful candidate must be able to understand instructions (written and oral) and be able to work in a fast-paced environment to meet production deadlines.

Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience: Previous electrical experience, 2 years, is required. Must be able to weld and be proficient in the use of hand and power tools.
Requirements: Safety toe shoes and PPE are required.

Hours: 40 Hours a week; but must be able to work flexible hours if needed (including call-out duty).
