Seward County E-911 Communications Center is accepting applications for the position of a full-time E-911 Communications Director.
This position is responsible for the effective operation of the E-911 Communications Center and ensures that all public safety agencies are properly supported with all aspects of 911 communications needs and requirements. This position is responsible for planning the communications department long-term objectives and coordinating projects, preparing accurate budgets, and achieving efficient and timely operations. Work involves leading, counseling and disciplines all communications staff. Duties include maintaining a properly staffed and scheduled communications center by all means necessary.
Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, be able to legally perform work in the U.S., minimum of 3 years experience as a communications supervisor or in a similar supervisory role. Preferred experience or general knowledge of accounting/budgets, technical support, Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Communications, or related field, and 5 years of personnel management. Applicants must obtain upon or during employment Emergency Medical Dispatch certification through the National Academy of EMD, CPR certification, and NCIC Certification.
