TMS Systems Analyst
The Global Transportation Management (TMS) Shipping Systems Analyst is responsible for implementing and supporting all parcel shipping systems to meet company fulfilment needs. Provide system support in the US, Canada, United Kingdom, European Union (Germany), with potential future expansion in other global markets. Collaborates with the business process teams to understand current/future business processes and act as a liaison between the business users and the TMS software providers. Defines standard work, process flows, and training. Complete testing and team visits (Gemba) to ensure shipping software works correctly. The job is on-site in Salt Lake City Utah.
Experience:
- Experience selecting implementing and maintaining shipping software to support multiple global locations.
- Work with carriers to understand their shipping APIs and connections / requirements
- Experience working with UPS / FedEx / DHL / Pitney Bowes /Other non-US based carriers -- Multi carrier Shipping systems
- Experience with the Globalship / Easy Post Shipping software preferred
- History working with Zebra printers and ZPL
- History working with dimensional readers and other scanning equipment
Technical
- Develop and maintain process to support the up time of the TMS systems
- Maintain the testing and production shipping environments
- Monitor TMS systems to ensure and maintain data integrity, and troubleshoot technical issues
- Setup and maintain business rules and complete a weekly audit to ensure compliance
- Validate carrier-passed rates for each carrier's, service, and accessorial fees to ensure alignment with contractual agreements
- Manage and create test data
- Maintain SOC 2 compliance for the TMS systems
- New user set up / transition to single sign-on
- Manage transfer of data from ERP to TMS, from TMS to Freight Audit, and from Freight Audit back to OC Tanner databases
- Identify areas of opportunity to enhance the TMS systems (Examples: shipping software, scales, dimensional readers, printers, scanners, etc.
- Develop and maintain shipping documentation -- Commercial Invoices (Printed and Paperless), Carrier Labels, etc.
- Ensure there is 24/7 support for all shipping systems worldwide
Leadership
- Continuously enhance and improve the user experience for team members that use the shipping system
- Monitor market trends and opportunities to enhance shipping capabilities. Lead enhancements to shipping automation processes
- Lead bi-weekly scrum meetings for users and shipping software providers
- Prioritize programming requests and ensure they are completed on time
- Work with carrier partners to identify & resolve shipping system issues
- Shipping process owner: train the trainers on new program development so they can train shipping system users
- Complete weekly Gemba audits on shipping systems
- Budget for shipping system support and enhancements
- May lead a team to select and implement TMS shipping software that will meet global needs
Other
- Own and track other system development requests from Logistics team
- Manually transact shipments that are not automated through shipping software to define processes and automate manual efforts
- Develop business practices to promote continuous process improvement
- Complete other duties as assigned
