The Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago, a world-class, research intensive, pediatric health center affiliated with the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, seeks a talented physician leader to serve as Head of the Division of Hematology, Oncology, Neuro-Oncology & Stem Cell Transplantation. Operating within the Department of Pediatrics, the Division of Hematology, Oncology, Neuro-Oncology & Stem Cell Transplantation is one of the top training programs in the country and is ranked 15th in the nation for care of patients with pediatric cancer. The division includes 28 faculty, 10 fellows and 39 advanced practice providers. The Division also offers the region's most complete array of programs and services for children with blood disorders sickle cell disease, thalassemia, hemophilia/other bleeding disorders, and thrombophilia/blood clotting disorders. Lurie Children's has the region's largest pediatric hematology and oncology team, caring for more than 5,000 infants, children, and adolescents each year.
The new Head of Hematology, Oncology, Neuro-Oncology & Stem Cell Transplantation will be joining a well-established division within a thriving institution at a remarkable time. The overarching goal for the new Division Head is to continue to enhance the Division's reputation and to further elevate the quality of clinical care, teaching, research, and advocacy.
The successful candidate will have earned the following credentials and experience:
- An MD or MD/PhD degree, Board Certification in General Pediatrics and Pediatric Hematology-Oncology, a medical license, or eligibility for, in the State of Illinois, and an academic appointment at the Associate Professor level or higher.
- Demonstrated leadership in clinical care, development of research, and/or administration within the field of Pediatric Hematology Oncology.
- Strong clinical expertise along with a proven track record of funded research in the field of Pediatric Hematology Oncology.
- Rank, salary, and the awarding of tenure will be commensurate with experience.
