General & Minimally-Invasive Surgeon
Northwestern Surgical Associates (NSA) is an established private practice on the teaching faculty of Northwestern's Feinberg School of Medicine and on the medical staff of Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Our group maintains our autonomy while practicing within an academic medical center. This allows us to provide highly personalized care to our patients, excellent service to our referring doctors, handle both complex and bread-and-butter general surgical cases, and educate and work with residents and medical students. Our small group model is unique at Northwestern, yet we are highly integrated into the culture of the medical center. We have a strong referral base and have a significant need for a surgeon who is able to handle the full-spectrum of general surgical care in addition to having a particular interest in minimally-invasive surgery and hernia surgery. An ideal candidate would have an entrepreneurial spirit and be highly motivated to establish their own, individualized practice.
Requirements:
We seek a full-time general surgeon with an interest in practicing in downtown Chicago. Emergency room call 3-4 times per month is expected in addition to 1-2 weekend calls per month for the group. The candidate must be highly skilled as a technical surgeon, be personable and approachable, and be an excellent teacher. The candidate needs to be self-motivated to establish his/her own individualized practice from day one.
