Responsible for commissioning, testing, and inspecting demand response equipment in the field in addition to industrial and special account billing, rate modeling, billing/demand response support, and required reporting. 

Education/Experience: 

  • Associate degree minimum required; Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
  • Electrical Technology, Agricultural Engineer, Agricultural Systems Management, or  Agricultural Education majors or related field preferred.  
  • Electrical utility experience may be substituted for preferred majors.

Essential Responsibilities: 

  • Maintain, build, and improve the load management system 
  • Performs industrial and special account billing and energy usage monitoring. Maintains and monitors billing contracts/agreements.  
  • Primary contact for Commercial & Industrial account member inquiries.  
  • Assist members concerning power quality issues through the use and/or installation of voltage and power monitoring equipment owned by Nodak.  
  • Acts as advanced-level support contact for demand response and energy usage calls. 
  • Calculates billing adjustments.  
  • Calculates rate comparisons.  
  • Assists with determining proper electric rate assignment for Commercial & Industrial loads.  
  • Develops an in-depth working knowledge and understanding of demand response and the  Incremental Pricing Program.  
  • Administers the Inadvertent Demand Protection Program.  
  • Calculates, records, analyzes, and reports monthly substation line loss values.  
  • Fields calls and model billing estimates for rate changes, distributed energy resource and cogeneration standby service proposals.  
  • Completes demand response and renewable energy reports for the Department of Energy.  
  • Reviews demand and off-peak account pre-billing reports, checks for data accuracy and makes appropriate corrections prior to bill run.  
  • Maintains connected load data information.  
  • Receives and answers member inquiries and complaints relative to billing. Works with members to clarify and resolve issues related to same, calculates and makes any necessary adjustments, as needed.  
  • Prepares, submits, and maintains semiannual EPA Neshap-Rice emissions compliance reports.  


Work hours are 7:30 am – 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday.
