Duties and Responsibilities
The Program Coordinator will be responsible for direct and indirect supervision and operations of various areas and programs within Campus Recreation. The position will allow for proper distribution of time and workload amongst areas of responsibility. This position will also assist the department in meeting value-based goals of serving all students through recreation.

Bachelor's degree in related field and at least two to three years of related experience preferred. Additional Education or Experience may be required by department program.

Duties and Responsibilities
The Program Coordinator will be responsible for direct and indirect supervision and operations of various areas and programs within Campus Recreation. Campus Programming, Special Events, and Campus Partnerships
- Assist in operations of special events and campus partnerships with groups such as First Year Experience, Admissions, Center for Diversity and Inclusion (CDI), Center for Student Engagement (CSE), Orientation (Many events take place during summer months)
- Assist in summer orientation programming to include events, programs, and outreach to incoming and potential students
- Plan, manage and assess specialty recreation programming to ensure outreach of inclusive and engagement of all student populations
- Develops and implements on campus (and near to campus) programming related to outdoor programming such as skills, team building campfires, hikes, academic break, and weekend programming
- Assist the Assistant Director of Campus Recreation in the management of the Halas Rockwall
- Develop, maintain, and ensure compliance of policies and procedures for the Halas Rock Wall
- Performs administrative duties such as complete program reports, marketing, equipment purchases, incident reports, and documentation
- Oversee care and maintenance of Rockwall, equipment, and risk management
- Develops and implements programming at Rock Wall
- Manage outdoor equipment program as needed
- Supervise 15-20 student staff who work for the Rockwall and programming
- Plan, organize, and implement annual department wide Fall and Spring student training
- Assist with developing student employee appreciation and outreach events throughout the year
- Develop and manage Student Advisory Board
- Assist with teaching Red Cross First Aid & CPR Classes to student staff
- Assist Director and Sport Programs Coordinator as needed in overall operations for Sport Programs including Esports development
- Intramural Special events and programming development and management
- Assist Sport Program Coordinator as needed in overall Club Sport operations, advisement and assistance in travel, budget, fundraising, sponsorships, advisement of clubs and other areas and needed
- Limited game and program coverage as needed
- Direct and shared student staff supervision
- Manage and oversee in-person promotional opportunities, such as tabling, presentations, and presence around campus and at events
- Assist in managing department social media accounts
- Supervise student staff who assist with department marketing programs
- Manages student payroll, including tracking overall payroll expenses and overseeing payroll requirements for new hires and promotions.
- Assists with office responsibilities including assessment, finances, website development, marketing, student payroll, and answering phones
- Utilize Fusion software to manage program
- Provides logistical support and serves as an emergency contact for rock wall, programs, and special event activities
- Assists with office responsibilities including assessment, finances, marketing, and answering phones
- Assists with the coordination of registrations and information dissemination for programming
- Assists with the formulation and implementation of policies and procedures
- Represents the office at various campus, division, and community functions, as assigned
- Provides high quality customer service as part of the Campus Recreation Staff
- Performs other duties as required
Bachelor's degree in related field and at least two to three years of related experience preferred. Additional Education or Experience may be required by department program.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree Required (ability to obtain or 2023 graduates can apply), Masters Degree preferred in Recreation, Sport Management or similar field
- 1-2 years of work experience in a related field
- Experience working in collegiate recreation preferred
- Experience training, mentoring and evaluating staff (student, ect)
- Skilled at teaching and presenting
- Ability to work effectively with multiple constituencies and in stressful situations
- Appreciation of Jesuit values and education
- Experience in sport and recreation programming
- Knowledge of current trends, technology and programming of collegiate programming
- Ability to use transferable and concrete skills in Rockwall management and various recreational programming
- Ability to gain and maintain certifications
- Ability to manage time between program areas and responsibilities
- Passion and knowledge for student development and desire to work in a student lead environment
- Valid Drivers License (preferred)
- American Red Cross CPR First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain with in 3 months of hiring, department will supplement cost)
- American Red Cross CPR First Aid Instructor ( (or ability to obtain with in 3 months of hiring, department will supplement cost))
- Ability and willingness to obtain Rockwall certifications such as CWA (Climbing Wall Association) or PCIA (Professional Climbing Instructor Association) or comparable climbing certifications. Department will support this process
- Familiar with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point).
