Job Description

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The Manager, Training Development manages System-Wide Training Development for the Student Success division and is responsible for leading selection, logistics, curriculum development, and budget and resource management for several training development programs and initiatives. The manager will be responsible for the development, preparation and online facilitation of training needs for faculty and staff as needed by the Student Success division, and train/develop staff system-wide by creating on demand training curriculum. The Manager also works across functional units in Student Success to develop training models to be used throughout the system and is responsible for training development, assessment, and continuous improvement in support of system-wide Student Success related initiatives.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  1. Develop oral and/or written communications related to training development and direct content for training on related issues and topics
  2. Facilitate training development learning experiences utilizing a variety of online modalities and on demand instructional methods to include the learning management system and other related technologies
  3. Manage System-Wide Student Success Training Development
  4. Responsible for leading selection, logistics, curriculum development, budget and resource management for training development programs and initiatives
  5. Manage program resources to provide specific programs or service offerings to internal or external stakeholders in the areas of Student Success
  6. Review and analyze training development programs in relation to current trends in higher education
  7. Collaborate with Director to plan and implement processes and tools
  8. Engage stakeholders across the Student Success division to improve efficiency and training delivery to meet established goals
  9. Represent department in meetings, with subject matter experts as needed
  10. Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

The work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods of standing; walking over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities; or recurring lifting of moderately heavy items, such as typewriters and record boxes. The work may require specific, but common, physical characteristics and abilities, such as above average agility and dexterity.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Project or program management experience
  • Experience developing and delivering training and development content in higher education or non-profit organizations
Salary

Hiring salary range is $54,528-$62,707

Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all posted full-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fall in that range is determined by your related experience and education.
