Job Description
General Directive: Focused primarily on Logging Supervision with assistance provided to silviculture and engineering. Planning, coordinating, supervising, and implementing harvesting projects and programs in a team environment. This is a good position for an early-career professional.
Scope:
- The area encompasses 149,000 acres.
- Harvest unit and associated transportation systems planning, layout, permitting, and contract supervision.
- Required budgeting work and skills in the latest technologies.
- Stewardship of people and the environment.
- Stakeholder relations.
Specific Duties:
- Harvest unit design, boundary delineation, environmental compliance, harvest system selection, bidding/negotiating price, contracting, contract administration, etc.
- Coordinate with and assist local engineer on road maintenance projects as well as silviculture forester on various silvicultural operations.
- Support land management activities development and implementation.
- Active and involved participant in the safety program.
- Develop budgets and forecasts.
- Implementation of the stewardship program, including SFI.
- Support the acquisitions team, client account group, etc. as needed.
- Development of property management plans, property budgets, and budget forecasts.
- Environmental stewardship program implementation and compliance.
- Safety culture development, program implementation, and compliance.
- Participate in all Team projects and help foster the Team atmosphere.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- BS in Forest Management, Forest Engineering or related field.
- Demonstrates proficiency in GIS, ArcMap preferable.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft software suite (includes Outlook / email or something similar)
- Demonstrates strong organizational skills.
- Team player - able to understand and work with different personalities.
- Highly motivated and entrepreneurial.
- Demonstrates strong oral and written communication skills.
