Senior Analyst, Registrar




Job Description

The Senior Analyst must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to effectively communicate, plan and prioritize various projects, support query, process, and communication projects across four MyCSN modules (Admissions, Student Records, Campus Community, Academic Advising) and assist in Curriculum Management functions at the college. The Senior Analyst will supervise one analyst and ensure they are properly trained, have clear goals, and provide performance feedback.

This role supports the Office of the Registrar by overseeing various technical processes including, but not limited to:
  • Test system updates, integrations, and implementations as needed;
  • Design, modify and update queries and processes;
  • to collect, analyze and provide report data for institutional, state, and federal reporting; Provide technical and practical assistance with student data and related systems;
  • Utilize a query-based update (QBUs) system to add, delete and update student records in PeopleSoft (MyCSN) to facilitate office priorities; provide data for ad-hoc staff requests
  • Provide recommendations for process or system improvements;
  • Attend meetings with internal and external entities to provide feedback on CSN requirements and processes;
  • Develop PeopleSoft (MyCSN) related training materials for faculty, staff and students and provide training when appropriate;
  • Provide recommendations to automate various Office of the Registrar processes to assist in reaching departmental, division and institutional goals; Develop electronic workflows to meet institutional needs; Update departmental webpages as needed;
  • Maintain working knowledge of best practices in reporting.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in MIS or other analysis-based concentration from an accredited college or university; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 years of related professional experience.
  • 2 years of experience in years in data analysis, documentation, and testing.
  • Ability to develop and modify queries.
  • Basic understanding of SQLs.
  • Advanced level computer skills using Windows-based operating system, specifically Microsoft Word Excel (graphics, pivot tables) and Adobe suite.
  • Experience in creating/maintaining web pages using HTML tags.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • 2 years' experience in data analysis, documentation, and testing within a higher education institution.


The ideal candidate should possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Knowledge of relational database and SQL in an Oracle or Windows environment.
  • Knowledge of developing and producing queries in Peoplesoft.
  • Skills navigating CRM systems and understanding functions and workflow.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the day-to-day operations of a college level Office of the Registrar office and other student services.
  • Ability to generate ad-hoc reports using query language.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, faculty, students, and the public.
  • Ability to analyze problems and users' needs, convert technical concepts to non-technical language.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to independently work in a fast-paced environment with quickly changing priorities.
  • Experience supervising technical staff.


Salary information:

Administrative Faculty C - The starting salary is $67,256.
