Urban Forester
Be a part of creating future amenities and leaving a legacy in Dubuque! The Leisure Services Department provides parks, trails, recreational facilities and quality services to the entire community. The Parks Division plans, develops, and maintains over 1200 acres of parkland, and the formal public landscaping and natural areas in and around the City with a sustainable environment focus.
We welcome applicants for a full time Urban Forester to plan and manage the Urban Forestry program, perform arboricultural tasks, lead a skilled team, promote and educate about trees and tree planting, devise plans for planting and growing new trees, monitor trees for healthy growth, and serve as a working supervisor. Work is performed mostly outdoors in all weather conditions, including wet, hot and cold.
A Bachelor's degree in Urban Forestry, Environmental/Natural Resources Management, Forestry Management, or related fields; or equivalent education and experience are required. See job posting for additional certification requirements.
